Purslane Yellow Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow leafy vegetable has large yellow tender leaves with a nutty flavour.

Pick the leaves when required they can used like spinach or for salads and stir frys.

Companion Plants Carrot, cabbage, lettuce, beetroot, radish

Pick the leaves when required.

A good source of vitamin A,C and iron

Use in salads, stir fry, lightly steam

Sow the seed thinly March - May onto well drained compost and cover lightly and leave on a sunny window sill or place in a propagator.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into trays spacing 5cm apart or into individual pots or cells.

Alternatively sow outdoors from May to August in a sunny sheltered spot into fertile soil thin the plants to 10cm apart.
