Description

Pumpkin Collection Musquee De Provence Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow french heirloom variety is large pumpkin with deeply lobed skin that matures from green through to orange then a deep mahogany brown.

The bright orange flesh has a sweet nutty flavour with a meaty texture ideal for baking, pies and roasting.

Sow April - June

Germination 7 - 14 days

Loam or sandy soil thats acidic or neutral

Harvest September - October

Companion plants Corn, Squash, Nasturtium

Harvest by cutting the fruit off the plant

A good source of B1 and E

Use in Baking, pies and roasting

Sow from April onwards into pots 1.5 cm deep placing two seeds on their sides leave on a sunny window sill or in a propagator and keep moist.

Remove the weeker seedling and grow on when the plants get 4/5 leaves gently accustom them to the outsude and plant out leaving 120cm between plants when the chance of frost has passed.

Alternatively sow outside in June 120cm apart placing 2 seeds in the ground 1.5cm deep remove the weaker seedling when they emerge.
