Lettuce Lollo Rossa Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

This attractive loose leaved variety of lettuce has red tinged curly leaves with a good texture and flavour . 

 

Use in mixed salads or as a garnish.

Make successional sowings in fertile well drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot fortnightly to ensure a good supply of fresh lettuce throughout the year. 

Lettuce does not grow well in acidic soil.

Keep well watered during dry spells. 

 

Sow thinly indoors between February - March in seed trays when the plants are large enough to handle pot on to individual pots or a cell tray to grow on. Gradually harden off and transplant out in April spacing the plants 15cm apart.

 

Sow thinly outdoors April through to August in drills 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows when the seedlings appear thin to 15cm apart.
