This mix of spicy leaves will add texture colour and taste to liven up any salad.

They are quick and easy to grow sow little and often for a continuous supply of leaves during summer.

☀️ Sow April - October

☀️ Germination 7 - 14 days

☀️ Loam or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

☀️ Harvest April - October

☀️ Companion Plants Beetroot, beans, carrots and radish

Do not plant with cabbage

☀️ Pick the leaves from each plant when they reach around 10cm high

☀️ A good source of vitamin A

☀️ Use in salads, sandwiches or as a garnish.

Sow thinly outdoors in fertile well drained soil from April onwards.

Make successional sowings fortnightly through to August in drills 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows in a sheltered sunny spot.

Lettuce does not grow well in acidic soil.

Salad leaves can also be grown in pots and containers on a window sill or in pots on a sunny patio keep well watered during dry spells.
