This mix of various salad leaves and endive are excellent for mixed salads sow little and often for a continuous supply of leaves during summer.

Packed with essential vitamins and fibre this easy to grow leaf can be grown in containers if space is limited.

Seed Qty 1.5gram

Sow April - August

Germination 7 - 14 days

Loam or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest May - October

Companion Plants Beetroot, beans, carrots and radish

Do not plant with cabbage

Pick the leaves from each plant when they reach around 10cm high

A good source of vitamin A

Use in salads, sandwiches or as a garnish.

Sow thinly outdoors from April onwards.

Make successional sowings fortnightly through to August in drills 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows in a sheltered sunny spot.

Lettuce does not grow well in acidic soil.

Salad leaves can also be grown in pots and containers on a window sill or in pots on a sunny patio keep well watered during dry spells.
