Dahlia Cactus Mixed Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This long flowering half hardy annual is a bright and colourful mix of large flowers that stand on strong stems during summer.

They are an eye catching flower with pointed petals perfect for colour in beds and borders and can be used as a cut flower.

☀️Germination takes 14 - 21 days

☀️Loam, clay or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

☀️Height 90cm - 120cm

☀️Deadhead to prolong flowering, lift the Tubers before the first frosts and store over winter.

Sow from Feb - April on a warm window sill or propagator by thinly sowing the seed on top of moist compost. Cover with cling film until the seedlings emerge then remove, keep the compost moist.

When they are large enough to handle transplant 5cm apart into trays to grow on or small pots.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.

This is a half hardy perennial but treat as a half hardy annual.
