Corn Salad Vit Lambs Lettuce ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This fast growing salad crop has glossy green leaves with a mild flavour and slightly nutty after taste.

They can be harvested from when 3 - 4 leaves are formed excellent for growing in pots or smaller gardens.

Seed Qty 1 gram

Sow February - September

Germination 7 - 14 days

Loam - sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest May - November

Companion Plants Beetroot, beans, carrots and radish.

Do not plant with cabbage

Pick the leaves regularly

A good source of vitamin A

Use in Salads, sandwiches and garnish

Corn salad does not grow well in acidic soil, water well during dry weather.

Make small successional sowings in fertile well drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot fortnightly to ensure a good supply of leaves throughout the summer months.

Sow between February - March outside under cloches and in open ground March - September in rows 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows.

When the seedlings appear thin to 15cm apart.

Early sowings will need cloche protection.
