This is a traditional variety is a gardeners favourite and is an extremely reliable cauliflower with good quality firm white heads with a mild sweet flavour.

 

It can be harvested all year round with successional sowings. 

Can also be harvested as mini veg.

Cauliflower require a deep humus rich fertile soil in partial shade that has been well dug in autumn, they do not grow well in acidic soil so adding lime to the soil may be necessary.

 

Water well when transplanting and during warm weather. 

 

Sow indoors between February - March when the plants have around 5 leaves harden off and transplant outside to their final planting position 45cm apart and 60cm between rows treading the plants in well.

 

Alternatively sow out doors in a seed bed between April - May sowing thinly in drills 1.25cm deep thin the seedlings eventually spacing the plants 45cm apart and 60cm between rows into their final growing position treading the plant in well.

 

Sow from September - October in a cold frame tunnel or green house to overwinter and plant out in spring.
