Bean French Yard Long Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This vigorous climber is a type of oriental bean with very long stringless rounded pods with a good flavour. Pick regularly to encourage further crops it's also known as an asparagus bean.

☀️Sow April - June

☀️Germination 7 - 14 days

☀️Harvest July - September

☀️Companion plants Carrots, beetroot, broccoli, cauliflower, peas and cucumber

☀️harvested when the pods are around 12cm long and no thicker than a pencil by gently pulling them off the plant.

☀️A good source of vitamin A and Fibre

☀️Use for steaming & light boiling suitable for home freezing for winter use

Sow into pots or trays on a sunny window sill or green house and plant out when the risk of frost has passed.

Alternatively sow direct into the ground where they are to grow when the risk of frost has passed 20cm apart leaving 60cm between rows in a sunny position providing canes for the beans to grow against.
