This is a compact plant that produces large crops of unusual coloured carmine pink beans with an outstanding flavour.

An ideal variety for a smaller garden or exposed site due to a height of around 60cm.

Broad beans have slightly fragrant flowers followed by leathery pods that house the tasty beans. They need a sunny spot with a humus rich fertile soil and apply a granular fertiliser a week before sowing. Sow the beans in double rows from early spring 5cm deep and 20cm apart leaving 20cm between the rows. Alternatively sow in pots on a sunny window sill or in a greenhouse during February. 

 

Pinch out the flowering tips after the first flowers have set to deter blackfly. Water well at the base on the plant when the pods start to swell if the weather is dry.
